Wendy Williams didn’t bother returning to the studio to collect her wigs before the final taping of The Wendy Williams Show, and now they’ll reportedly meet the same fate as the iconic purple chair the hostess perched on for nearly fourteen years. Memorabilia and set mementos from the hit show are reportedly being “tossed in the trash,” as producers are “not even bothering” to try to donate the iconic pieces.
Wendy is famous for her fabulous collection of wigs, something she frequently boasted about on her hit talk show. However, the Queen of Daytime has allegedly left her troupe of toupees at the studio, and now that production of the show has wrapped, the distinguished do’s — much like the host that donned them — won’t be getting a proper sendoff.
A source familiar with the matter told The Sun that the talk-show host’s “wigs are still there” because the embattled “didn’t come and get them,” and producers are left with no choice but to toss them in the trash.
The source added that Wendy’s legendary purple chair, where she famously sat to drink tea — and then spill it — will share the same fat.
“The chair is just going to be thrown out,” the source claimed. “Production is not even bothering to try to donate the chair to a museum — like The View did with their original table after 10 years. They gave it to The Smithsonian.”
Wendy is allegedly in denial that her show is finally over and that Debmar Mercury, the show's production company, has given her coveted timeslot to Sherri Shepherd.
“Despite the announcement yesterday from Debmar Mercury that the show is over, as of last night, Wendy was privately telling her close friends that the announcement is lies,” an insider close to the host revealed to The Sun earlier this week. “Wendy is in total and complete denial. If you spoke to her, you wouldn’t know what to believe either- that’s how in denial she is.”
“She hasn't come to terms that she's done on TV, that Debmar is done with her, and that she doesn't have a show. She's in absolute and complete denial,” the source continued. “Wendy doesn't have a show. She doesn’t have a manager. And she is still not capable of being on TV anyway.”
For what it’s worth —producers asked Wendy to tape a final farewell to her fans which would air on the show’s final episode, but she said no.
